For the month of July, Frugal Family Food is sharing summertime treats. But it’s Monday. And we know you need coffee… lots of coffee… to make this summer amazing.
We got you, Boo.
Every Monday, we are sharing a coffee based treat for the java lovers.
This Monday, we have a recipe for Iced Caramel Macchiato that is SOOOOO simple. I mean, seriously. You will be mad at yourself for ever having paid $5 for it at your favorite shop because the home version is THE SAME! I am talking an EXACT COPY of the store version. Plus, you probably have all of the ingredients at home.
My daughter makes it herself all the time (with decaf, of course). Watch her make it and see just how simple it is (She also shares how she makes a chocolate chip frappe, if you are interested).
Iced Caramel Macchiato
- 1 tbsp caramel syrup (plus extra for drizzle)
- 1 cup ice cubes
- 1 cup milk
- 2 shots espresso (or 1/2 cup strong coffee)
- 1 dash vanilla extract
1. Add caramel syrup to bottom or large glass mug.
2. Place ice cubes in the mug.
3. Add milk to mug.
4. Add dash of vanilla to espresso (or coffee). Stir.
5. Add espresso mixture to mug.
6. Drizzle caramel on top.
If you want to make this just like your local coffee shop, serve with a straw and let whoever is drinking this beverage stir is themselves. It is an experience just to watch all the coffee yumminess to combine.
